Why Make Up for Film & TV?

I fell in love with make-up at an early age. Dying for a little pop and a desire to be different, I switched my black eyeliner for an electric blue. I felt really pretty and grown up for the first time in my life. That’s when I decided everyone should feel that way. I began doing my friends make up any time I could. I loved giving that spark of confidence to other people. It helped me figure out that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.

My obsession with TV and Film is intense, and in other words very unhealthy. I’ve spent hours upon hours watching, and re-watching some of the greatest, and the worst things ever created for the screen. The biggest detail for me has always been the make-up, more specifically practical effects. And I can blame Buffy The Vampire Slayer for that. To find out that there is an actual person under those monsters, and that its make-up, was mind blowing. So, at 26 after being a little directionless I decided to try and follow my dream. I packed up and moved to New York, graduated from The Make Up Forever Academy and started on my way.
